When UIMLA has a project or other work we create a working group to bring our members together to collaborate. Working groups can be formed in General Assembly or by the UIMLA executive sending a request to every UIMLA association via their delegates.
Every association is invited to take part in working groups, every association receives multiple requests to provide people for working groups. The process is run in accordance with the requirements set out in the UIMLA statute.
Current/Recent UIMLA Working Groups
Mobility working group
In UIMLA we define Mobility as the ability for an IML to work in other countries. UIMLA is active in this area already and part of discussions with authorities regarding working rights. We have formed a working group to focus more effort in this area and we expect this to be active in the next few years. In October 2022 the working group presented a project plan to the member associations. The project’s main goal is:
to present on the UIMLA website information per UIMLA member country on
– the regulations in that country;
– possible procedures/websites to declare the intent to temporarily work there;
– possible deviations from the UIMLA Standard, or information on local practice;
We are grateful to the delegates, Austria: Hanno Dönz, Belgium: Alain Dantinne, Czech Republic: Klára Dvořáková, Italy: Furio Sabatini, Netherlands: Bep Maltha and Slovakia: Tomas Javurek. This is led by UIMLA General Secretary Peter Mienes for BEx.
