Many years ago Manuel Genswein, recognised all over the world as an expert on avalanche rescue, researched this (“Will a client ever be able to save your life?”) and published the remarkable results: with a 15-minutes training taught to completely inexperienced public, an average rescue time of 6:39 minutes (n=83) was accomplished.
