The UIMLA annual general assembly for 2020 had been planned to take place in Croatia. At the start of August the UIMLA executive started planning for a virtual event when they realised this was likely to be difficult.
Due to the current health crisis the UIMLA Executive Board reluctantly decided that it would not be possible to hold the event and decided to hold an online event using video.
This will allow the delegates from our member associations to take part in our normal discussions and review our progress in some important projects.
UIMLA now has 21 Full members and we’re becoming an organisation with a global reach. Each member will have a UIMLA membership card with a holographic sticker on it to validate they meet our standard. For several years member associations, led by our largest member from France, have asked that we democratically review our statutes and internal processes, especially relating to membership, to reflect our growing size. In 2020 UIMLA made a working group with members from France, Bulgaria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Italy and the UK.
